Important Terms and Places of Might and Magic

PLACES:

• VARN (Vehicular Astropod Research Nacelle): Large space stations designed to contain life within a biosphere. Those living within the Nacelle believe that they are actually within a living world. VARNs were designed to transport beings to worlds, where those worlds will then be populated. Many beings live their whole lives within these VARNs. Some are courageous enough to discover the Secrets within the deepest sanctums of these VARNs.
• CRON (Central Research Observational Nacelle): A larger version of the VARN. Only one is believed to be in existence. The most courageous inhabitants of the VARNs were transferred to the CRON by means of a Gate to Another World. It is known that several beings of VARN #41 managed to enter the CRON.
• Terra: One of the first planets populated by a VARN. The planet consisted of a number of Isles. Two objects from space were seen crash-landing by the populace.
• Xeen: A planet created a century or so after Terra. This world was created flat, with two sides. In theory the Ancients (The creators of the CRON and VARNs) simply forgot to complete this planet and make it round, though a prophecy was left behind with the means of making the planet round.
• Clouds Side: The ‘Light’ side of the world of Xeen. A somewhat dangerous place for adventurers. Run by the self-proclaimed Lord Xeen.
• Dark Side: The ‘Dark’ side of the world of Xeen. An extremely dangerous place for adventurers. Run by King Alamar.

• Axioth: A world also populated by the CRON and VARN. This world was of particular interest to the Ancients. Many prophecy and troubles were known to occur within this land.
• Enroth: A Kingdom that has been ruled by the Ironfists for generations. A dangerous land populated by a large number of creatures. Rumors that devils may be present are abound.
• Erathia: A continent without law. The forces of Enroth are trying to establish a colony in this reckless territory. Devils are also abound in great masses.
• Jadame: A land suffering from raids by pirates and attacks by wild beasts. Traditionally this continent was used as a home for smugglers and tradesmen. War between clerics and necromancer; and dragons and dragon slayers has also ravaged the land. It is said that a prophecy will be fulfilled in which the four elements cleanse the terrain; the Ironfists have shown some interest in this.
• Chedian: A continent originally inhabited by half-orcs. After an event known as Cataclysm occurred the half-orcs were forced to allow new settlers into the land, and the continent was divided into six major clans. The lands of Chedian are known to be rich in a mineral known as Thjorad which as caused many a war.

Data Keeper:

Only one sighting of him can be recalled. He allowed the warriors of VARN #41 to be transferred to the CRON. He wears a white coat and speaks in a serene voice. Theoretically he is an Ancient, the head Ancient. Probable name is Jon Van Caneghem.

Ancients:

The creators of the VARNs and CRON. They created and populated the Worlds of Might and Magic, and act as gods to the denizens of them. They speak to the Worlds of Might and Magic through seers. They know all that goes on in the Worlds for they have created them. Through the years the ancients have increased in numbers.
